Since Sprint Filter began to produce air filters, in 1952, the way to build the filters changed, most  of the competitors have remained stopped to the pits  manufacturing the classic cotton gauze oiled filter, Sprint Filter ,not considering it in the step with the times, studied a NEW REVOLUTIONARY SYSTEM: THE FILTER polyester P08, a filtering membrane made ​​of a woven synthetic yarns.

From the technical point of view, the filter element Sprint Filter P08 is not made, as generally happens, from stranded cotton fibers  or more simply by oiled foam, with a calibrated or variable density, but by a filtering membrane consists from a fabric of polyester threads from ø 5 microns, that you can simply  clean  with compressed air!

Moreover, the filtering surface area appears to be double (compared to all the other special filters) : the use of this special polyester allows to use  a fold step (distance between a pleat and the other one) of 8mm against a standard of 10/12 mm of all other special filters on the market; Sprint Filter, moreover, is the only one who uses a height of the pleat of 20 mm. Against a standard of 15 mm. This results in a greater filtering surface area and a constant filtration at all the engine rounds. The airflow ensured by the filters P08 is not comparable to any cotton air filter and it is constant over time.
Finally the cleaning procedure, is extremely fast and easy: just use compressed air in the opposite direction respect to the inlet intake to remove most of the retained dusts. You do not need  to wash and dry the filter anymore, allowing an immediate refitting. If  a grease elimination is necessary, seeping oil , P08 does not fear any degreasing agent, of any kind it can be.Than after the washing with degreasing agents it can be safely blown with compressed air and refitted in the airbox.
